I still vividly remember that time when I told myself every day that I was burnout.

For a while I lost the motivation and desire to continue working on various projects, especially those that requir highly repetitive tasks.

Burnout vs. Boreout: How to tell them apart?
Thanks to a Harvard Business Review article, I realiz that I was not experiencing “burnout syndrome.”

My lack of motivation wasn’t because I was burnt out. What was really happening t read morewhat is a good email open rate? o me was that I was bor of doing the same thing every day; as if on autopilot.

There are certainly tasks that we ne to do frequently, in one way or another.

Look at this example: every two weeks I have to pay my crit cards and audit my savings plan.

But instead of getting bor by the repetitiveness of these assignments, I choose to bw lists  change the focus, simplify some tasks, and even delegate them.

Why am I telling you this? Because burnout has been talk about a lot, and we often make the mistake of diagnosing ourselves without really knowing what is happening to us.

It is valid that we feel saturat at a professional level, or that we reach a point where we do not know what to do, or how to continue moving forward with our projects.

But there is a clear difference between feeling burn out or bor at work, although the line between the two syndromes is often easily blurr.

 

Let’s avoid self-diagnosis
What I’m trying to tell you is that we ne to be very careful when diagnosing ourselves, especially when we feel unmotivat or disconnect from our jobs.
